Bluetooth

The Twiddler3 operates in both Wired, via USB, and Wireless, via Bluetooth 2.1 (Class 2, BT 2.1 + EDR) HID Profile. When in Bluetooth mode, the Twiddler3 must be paired before it will start sending keystrokes and mouse data to your host device.

Pairing

Out of the box, and after you slide the power switch to the ON position, the Twiddler is ready to pair. The Status LED will be blinking Green and it will be actively broadcasting its BT address. On your host device, open your Bluetooth manager and search for New Bluetooth Devices. Once scanning is complete, you will see the Twiddler appear as: “Twiddler-xxxx” where xxxx are the last 4 characters of its Bluetooth Address. Just click on it and pair the Twiddler to your host. If your host requires a passkey, the Twiddler's passkey is 1234.

If you do not see the Twiddler appear in your Bluetooth Device list, make sure the Twiddler is powered on and the Status LED is blinking 2 short Green blinks every second. If the LED is blinking but the Twiddler is not in the list, or if you see a device named “FireFly”, press N+S R000 to reset the pair on the Twiddler.

Power Saving

After 5 minutes of inactivity, no button presses or mouse movement, the Twiddler3 will go into a sleep mode. This sleep mode deactivates the Bluetooth Radio and disconnects from the host device. In order to wake up the Twiddler3 from sleep mode, just push down on the Joystick as you would issue a “right mouse click”. You will see the Status LED blink green while the BT Radio is reactivated and repaired with your host device. This is usually done automatically and within 2-5 seconds. Actual pair times vary and are dependent on your host device.

Radio

The Twiddler3 uses a Microchip RN42HID-I/RM Bluetooth Radio.
